Vendors are lining up for the Sonoran Green Expo 2010, a third annual green fair to be held Saturday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at M3, a large building at 2051 W. Sunset off River and La Cholla.

This year's theme is "Quenching Southern Arizona's Thirst for Sustainability." It is presented by the U.S. Green Building Council's Arizona chapter, southern branch. Admission to the expo is free.

Included are public sustainability workshops on energy savings, desert living and more, a $20 green home tour through the green building council, and a presentation by Tucsonan Jerry Yudelson, an acclaimed engineer, author and sustainability consultant.

Yudelson, a professional engineer with an MBA, is the most published author and leading chronicler of the green building revolution. He has trained more than 3,500 people in the LEED® green building rating system, and chaired Greenbuild®, the world's largest green building conference, from 2004 through 2009.

"His speeches and workshops motivate people to understand and act on the business case for building and developing green," a release said.

A portion of the proceeds from the Sonoran Green Expo 2010 will be donated to the School Water Audit Program, an initiative of the University of Arizona's College of Agriculture and Life Science's Water Resources Research Center's Project WET: Water Education for Teachers.
