Zoo set for special Friday safari nights

Get set to visit the Reid Park Zoo, 1100 S. Randolph Way inside the City of Tucson's Reid Park, for special Friday Night Summer Safari Nights sponsored by the Reid Park Zoological Society and K-12 Arizona Virtual Academy.

The zoo is holding special evening hours, from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays, starting May 21 through July 9. Stroll the Zoo, watch your favorite animals in their evening rituals and enjoy the cooler evening temperatures. Listen to the smooth sounds of jazz provided by AzJazz.net.

Admission includes special children's activities, games and face painting.

The cost is $7.50 for adults and $5 for children 2 to 12. Children under two are free.

'We the People' forms in Oracle, meets Saturday

A conservative, Constitution-based non-partisan group has formed in Oracle.

We The People is a concerned citizens group that plans to meet this Saturday, May 15, at the Oracle Courthouse on Justice Drive.

Doors open at 8:45 a.m., and the meeting is from 9 to 10:30. Guest speakers are Dan Washburn, running for the position of Superior Court judge, and John Fillimore, running for the State House of Representatives in District 23.
