Children whose families attend Casas Church now have the ultimate play area. Kid City, a $750,000 mini amusement park complete with life-sized two- and three-dimensional characters and colorful graphics, opened Jan. 23, much to the delight of parents and youngsters alike. The park was designed by Bruce Barry and his Wacky World Studios. Barry is well known for his work on the E.T. ride at Universal Studios as well as Rain Forest Café eateries.

“It has been my dream for years to offer families a safe place to bring their children so the parents were free to enjoy our Sunday services without worry,” said Glenn Barteau, senior pastor of Casas Church, 10801 N. La Cholla Blvd. in Oro Valley. “We have surpassed my wildest dreams for creating an atmosphere kids will absolutely love while offering state-of-the-art security measures.”
