Invisible Theatre brings ‘In the Mood’ to Tucson

The Invisible Theatre will kick off its 41st anniversary season with the Tucson premiere of Kathleen Clark’s romantic comedy In the Mood Sept. 6-25.

The story takes place in a New York penthouse that provides the setting for a tale of mistaken identity, infidelity, broken elevators, marriage, friendship, and love lost and found. 

The play lasts about 85 minutes, and has no intermission. Tickets are $25. They are available by phone at 882-9721 or by going to www.invisibletheatre.com. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more.

The Invisible Theatre is located at 1400 N. First Ave, at the corner of First Avenue and Drachman Street.

Tequila and salsa challenges unite Aug. 27

La Encantada will be the site of a spicy gathering when tequila and salsa lovers get together Aug. 27 to challenge their taste buds.

The 2011 Southern Arizona Salsa Culinary Challenge will kick off the tasty event from 4 to 7 p.m. In addition to the amateur competition, the event will

include live mariachi music, art, salsa dancing,

Mexican beer tasting and children’s activities.

Salsa tasting tickets will cost $10.

The 2011 Southern Arizona Tequila Challenge will take place from 6 to 9 p.m., and will feature celebrity chefs presenting their versions of tequila-based drinks.

Tequila and salsa tasting tickets will cost $35.
