To beat the heat and keep art in front of people, two organizations are joining forces to produce the Summer ARTmarket at Tucson Mall.
The Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance and General Growth Properties are putting on indoor festivals the last Saturday and Sunday of the month, May through August. Displays by more than 120 artists are expected throughout the mall's 4500 N. Oracle Road upper and lower corridors.
"This partnership with General Growth Properties/Tucson Mall allows us to offer a quality arts experience to area residents," said Kate Marquez, SAACA executive director. "By producing festivals inside Tucson Mall, we can give artists a quality venue to display their work, an opportunity not previously available to them during the summer months."
The events are free, with hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays.
