Volunteers sought by Interfaith Community Services

Interfaith Community Services is looking for volunteers to help assist individuals in the area.

ICS is a volunteer-based nonprofit that provides food and emergency financial assistance to Pima County residents in need and assists seniors and disabled people with Mobile Meals.

Volunteers are needed to answer phones, greet visitors and assist with clerical tasks at the ICS office at 2820 W. Ina Rd. Volunteers also are needed to call homebound seniors and disabled individuals to check on their welfare, drive them to medical appointments or the grocery store, and help them read their mail, pay their bills or organize paperwork.

ICS also needs volunteers to pick up and deliver Mobile Meals north of Roger Road.

Interested persons should contact ICS volunteer coordinator Sandi Brickley at 297-2738, ext. 217 or sbrickley@icstucson.org.

SAHBA to hold charity event

Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA) will host its annual Carnival de Golfe charity golf tournament May 22 at Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa.

Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m., followed by tee-off at 7:30 a.m. Lunch and awards will be at noon.

There is a $150 fee to enter the tournament, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Hearth Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing shelter for homeless women with children.

The tournament, which has been raising money for local charities since 1995, is organized and run by SAHBA member volunteers.
