The Nordic Singers, a quintet of classically trained vocalists accompanied by piano from northern Europe, present an evening of classic arias and duets on Friday, June 18.

The concert takes place at 6:30 p.m. that Friday at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1220 W. Magee Road. It is presented by the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance.

The Nordic Singers include Knud Rasmussen (piano), Lars Bo Ravnback (tenor), Cecilia Hjortsberg (soprano), Magnus Gislason (tenor), Mats Calvén (tenor) and Victoria Gydov (soprano). They perform in two acts, singing arias and duets from "La Boheme," "La Traviata," "Madame Butterfly" and "Carmen" and various songs from the Nordic countries and other musicals and operattas.

Tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show. Youth under age 18 get in for $5.

The Nordic Singers have performed throughout the world in some of the finest music and opera halls, a release said.
