The year 2009 saw a slowdown in home and commercial construction, but there was activity going on. A Habitat for Humanity volunteer secures the north wall of the Ransom family home built in Marana. The Ransoms moved in this year, occupying Marana's first Habitat for Humanity house. Construction is well under way on the Twin Peaks Interchange in Marana, including the bridge that is being constructed over the Santa Cruz River and Interstate 10. Road projects are providing construction jobs in the Northwest as 2010 begins.
