"Key Ingredients of African Soul," performing originals and covers rooted in Afro-pop, African folk, reggae and Caribbean soca, plays the next free concert this Friday, April 23, at Steam Pump Village in Oro Valley.

The show takes place at 6:30 p.m. on the green at the Steam Pump Village shopping center off North Oracle Road, just north of First Avenue. It is part of the 2009-'10 Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance Cultural Concert Series.

"Key Ingredients of African Soul" offers "an enchanting mix of marimbas, guitars, drums and vocals," a release said. It features singers and dancers from Ivory Coast, Zimbabwe and Liberia.

The final performance in the cultural concert series takes place Friday, May 7, with a 6:30 p.m. performance by jazz group Giant Blue. Giant Blue also performs in the next installment of SAACA's inaugural Marana Concert Series on Saturday, May 8.
