Students from Ironwood Ridge and Canyon del Oro high schools, Casas Christian School, Immaculate Heart, Pusch Ridge Academy, and Cross, Wilson and Coronado middle schools are particularly invited, a release said.

In the program "Understanding your police department," students can see Taser, SWAT team and driving under the influence demonstrations, watch the K-9 unit in action, process a crime scene and more.

The academy runs Monday-Wednesday, June 22-24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the training room at the Oro Valley police Department.

Space is limited. Pizza, snacks and beverages are included. It is all free.
