'Ask the Expert' Saturdays at Tohono Chul

Tohono Chul Park is resuming "Ask the Expert," its free opportunity to speak with curator of plants Russ Buhrow about desert landscapes.

The events are held every other Saturday – July 25,  and Aug. 8 and 22 – from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays at the 7366 N. Paseo del Norte.

"Ever wonder what arid-adapted plants you can purchase to attract butterflies, birds or bats? Or what little pest is destroying your favorite plant or tree?" a release asked.

Buhrow can "answer your questions about those under-performing plants in your backyard, from identifying disease or pest problems, to diagnosing nutrient deficiencies and watering issues," it continued.

"It is also a great time to seek advice on plant selection, getting help finding the perfect plant for your dream garden," it concluded.

Tohono Chul Park is "the desert corner garden where nature, art, and culture connect." For more information on the park, call 742-6455, visit http://www.tohonochulpark.org">www.tohonochulpark.org, or visit in person at 7366 N. Paseo del Norte, one stoplight west of the intersection at Oracle and Ina roads
