Tickets remain available for "Passion for Fashion," the annual Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance fundraiser on Saturday, June 5, in the lush lower courtyard of La Encantada shopping center.

"We're certainly encouraged by the wide range of support SAACA receives for this major event, from our hosts at La Encantada to the local luminaries who will serve as our models to all who come to take part in this evening's festivities," said SAACA Executive Director Kate Marquez. "The fact that so many people help us produces this event serves as a powerful reminder of just how important the arts are to this community."

The runway fashion show features appearances by more than 30 models, many of whom are well-known community figures.

SAACA runway "models" include Miss Southeast Arizona Ashley Reichstein, art gallery owner Diana Madaras, musician and drummer-extraordinaire Chip Ritter, Tucson Toros baseball team owner Jay Zucker and premier jazz singer Julie Anne Boos, to name but a few.

Top fashions for all ages will be on display during the runway event, which starts at 7:30 p.m. There will be live music during the show.

Prior to the fashion show, beginning at 6:30 p.m., attendees may sample a variety of gourmet foods while sipping wine and cocktails. A silent auction features dozens of items, from art and jewelry to gift certificates and gift packages.

All proceeds from the silent auction and the main event will go to SAACA-related arts programs and events held throughout the year.

Last year's "Passion for Fashion" was a sell-out event, so advance ticket purchases are strongly recommended. Tickets start at $30 per person, but discounted packages are available.
