The Tucson Jazz Society launches its annual Jazz Under the Stars fall series, which will combine local jazz artists with a brand new outdoor location.

The series is comprised of five concerts, four of which will take place at Tohono Chul Park.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the Tucson Jazz Society to Tohono Chul Park,” said Christine Conte, the park’s executive director. “What could be cooler than enjoying an evening of jazz in our desert oasis?”

Integrated into the series will be the Jazz Legends in Concert LIVE: A Journey through Jazz at the Fox Theater, sponsored by the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance.

“This series is really exciting for us at the Society,” said Rick Gregson, president of the Tucson Jazz Society. “We love giving our outdoor concerts when the weather cools down. What better place than Tohono Chul Park? And Friday nights are a favorite so concert attendees don’t have to go to work the next day.”

Chef Albert Hall, owner of Acacia Real Food & Cocktails and manager of the Tohono Chul Tea Room, will be back providing food and beverages for attendees at all of the Tohono Chul concerts.

The concerts will take place on:

Sept. 23, Tohono Chul Park: Straight Ahead Jazz Doug Webb with Dave Tull.

Oct. 1, Fox Theater: Jazz Legends in Concert LIVE: A Journey through Jazz.

Oct. 14, Tohono Chul Park: Traditional/Dixieland jazz Original Wildcat Jass Band.

Oct. 28, Tohono Chul Park: Jazz meets blues with Lisa Otey and Friends.

Nov. 4, Tohono Chul Park: Latin jazz and salsa manteca.

Ticket prices for the Tohono Chul concerts are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, $15 for TJS members, and $10 for students and active military members with ID.
