It is time to roll out those lazy, hazy days of summer.  It is a time when our thoughts drift to family barbeques, vacations, and lots of fun and relaxation.  As for many transplants to our sunny Tucson, it is also a time when many of them return to their former homes to wait out the summer heat in cooler climates.

As the nation’s largest veterans’ service organization, the activities of American Legion still continue to operate year round.  While post activities wind down during the summer,  an active group of members continue volunteering at the VA hospital and are available to serve the veterans in the Tucson area.

American Legion Tucson Mountains Post 102 meets the first Tuesday of each month – September through May at 7 p.m. at the Tucson Estates Recreation Hall.

The next regular meeting will be Sept. 2.

Anyone with questions can contact Peter Santaniello at 219-7317.
