Whole Foods Market, the world’s leading natural and organic foods retailer, will temporarily close the 7133 N. Oracle store in the Casas Adobes Shopping Center for extensive remodeling at end of day Sunday, January 6, 2013. The store is expected to reopen in winter 2013.

“Tucson is a community we are committed to wholeheartedly. We’re deeply investing in this city through the renovation at the Speedway Boulevard store, the opening of the River Road store and now the redevelopment of the Northwest location,” said Patrick Bradley, president of Whole Foods Market’s Southern Pacific region.

The Casas Adobes store on Oracle Road will continue to serve customers until its closing at 6 p.m., Sunday, January 6, and offer a storewide liquidation sale on products. Until the renovations are complete, customers can find their Whole Foods Market favorites at the new River Road Store and the Speedway Boulevard locations.

Team members currently employed at the Casas Adobes location will temporarily move to one of our other two Tucson locations before returning to help reopen the renovated Casas Adobes store.

“While we will miss seeing our customers on a daily business, we look forward to creating an expanded store and community resource for healthy living,” said Jay Young, Whole Foods Market store team leader.

Renovations to the Oracle Road store will remain true to the Casas Adobes Plaza’s distinct architectural style designed by Gordon Luepke, a protégé of renowned architect Josias T. Joesler. The store will be rebuilt from the ground up and expanded to a two-story structure of approximately 32,000 square feet with administrative and meeting space on the second level.
