Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment is proud to announce the hiring of Andy Asselin as its new Chief Executive Officer. His appointment follows an extensive nationwide search by the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise for the top executive talent in the gaming business.

Mr. Asselin comes to Desert Diamond Casinos with more than 30 years of experience in the gaming and resort industry, most recently as CEO of gaming operations for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, which maintains two casinos in Michigan. In his stellar career Asselin has run multiple-location facilities, overseen the construction of new facilities and operated award-winning casinos in Michigan, California and Nevada.

“We are delighted Mr. Asselin will be leading our gaming operation,” said Angelina Listo, Chairwoman of the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise. “With Andy’s strong credentials and track record of success, he will continue our enterprise’s commitment to providing a world-class entertainment experience. His expertise in casino and resort construction will also play a pivotal role as the Tohono O’odham Nation moves forward with its West Valley Resort project.”

“Desert Diamond Casinos shares the same dedication to guest service that I have always applied throughout my career, making this a perfect match,” said Andy Asselin. “The operation has an excellent staff and I’m eager to get started.”

Asselin will succeed interim CEO Libby Francisco, who returns to her position as Chief Operating Officer of the gaming operation.
