The merchants at Plaza Colonial center will host the third annual “Dog Days of Summer” fundraising event to benefit the Humane Society of Southern Arizona on July 25.

Admission is purchase of the “Plaza Passport/Raffle Ticket” ($5 each or 5 for $20).  Each guest who “fills” their passport will be eligible to win gift certificates and prizes from participating merchants.

A “Doggy Fashion Show” will begin at 7 p.m. featuring a variety of dogs modeling original “designer creations” specially created for the show by students at the Art Institute of Tucson. There will also be caricature artists on hand for those who would like a special rendering of their faithful friend for $5.

All of the proceeds from the sale of the Passport tickets, caricatures, hot dogs from Shlomo and Vito’s, and gelato cones from Tavolino will be donated to the Humane Society.  A portion of the sales of any items sold that evening at participating merchants will also be donated to the Humane Society.

Plaza Colonial is located at 2850 E. Skyline Drive.
