A Tucson bank has earned a second consecutive "Five-Star Superior" rating from a bank rating firm.
Commerce Bank of Arizona was recognized for financial strength and stability by BauerFinancial, Inc., which indicated Commerce Bank of Arizona is "one of the strongest banks in the nation," a release said.
"The number of Five-Star rated banks is diminishing," said Karen L. Dorway, president of BauerFinancial, "but that doesn't mean they are extinct."
BauerFinancial bases its ratings on current financial data supplied by federal banking regulators, comparing it with previous historical data for consistency.
"We are very proud of having an independent, outside rating agency the quality of BauerFinancial awarding the bank with this 'Superior' rating," said Randy Yenerich, president and chief executive officer of Commerce Bank of Arizona. "This award could not have been received without the diligence of our staff and board of directors."
Established in 2002, Commerce Bank of Arizona currently operates through five offices in Tucson, Green Valley and Tubac.
