Virginia Ray and Charlotte Pedersen, residents of The Fountains at La Cholla, are featured in Expressions 2011, a national calendar celebrating active aging and the arts. “We are extremely proud of our residents’ ongoing achievements in the arts and in life,” said Kay Warren, executive director of The Fountains at La Cholla. “To be selected for this year’s publication out of more than 200 entries is quite an honor.”

Expressions is published annually by Watermark Retirement Communities. It is intended “to inspire ageless creativity by showcasing the wide array of creative talents of Watermark residents coast to coast.”

Ray’s oil painting, “Desert Splendor,” earned a feature spot in the 2011 calendar during the month of July. Mostly self-taught, she took her first watercolor class when she moved into a casita at The Fountains earlier this year.

Pedersen earned an honorable mention spot for her painting of a bright red flower.

Free copies of Expressions 2011 are available while supplies last. Call The Fountains at La Cholla at 797-2001 for more information.
