IRS in Tucson sets open house this Saturday

The Internal Revenue Service is hosting a special open house this Saturday, Sept. 25, at its 300 W. Congress office to help taxpayers solve tax problems and respond to IRS notices.

IRS staff is going to help taxpayers "work through issues and leave with solutions," a release said.

They'll help with notices, payments, return preparation and a variety of other issues.

Anyone with a tax question or who has received a notice can speak with an IRS employee to get an answer to their question or a clear explanation of what is necessary to satisfy the request, the release continued.

OV approves 111-unit plan on Lambert

The Oro Valley Town Council has approved development plans for a 111-unit assisted living facility.

Located on Lambert Lane near Pusch View Lane, the facility would feature a two-story apartment style building and 14 duplex buildings.

Residents would live in single- and two-bedroom apartments and eat in a communal dining room.

The site also would feature up to 170 parking spaces. A variance the developer was awarded would allow it to build parking for 120 cars, less than what code allows.

The variance was granted because most of the future residents won't drive and the additional parking isn't needed.
