Sales, service in a recession next topic on Nov. 18

Dr. Victor Piscitello, a professor at the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management, presents the next business builder workshop in a Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce series.

"Sales and service during a recession" is offered Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Splendido in Rancho Vistoso.

Dr. Piscitello combines more than 20 years of real world business experience and his educational credentials "to provide a unique perspective on sales and service, presented in his energetic and entertaining way," the release said.

"Learn what you need to do to not only survive, but thrive during recessionary times," a chamber release said. "You'll come away with knowledge on how to put together a game plan that will enable you to gain market share and be prepared for future growth."

Piscitello is offering lecture and discussion, with "lots of time for questions and answers," the release said.

The workshop is intended for business owners and sales managers.

It runs from 8 to 10 a.m. that Wednesday at Splendido, located at 13500 N. Rancho Vistoso Boulevard.

Prices for members and accompanied guests are $10 before Nov. 14, $15 after Nov. 14 and $20 at the door. Prices for non-members are $15, $20 and $25, respectively.

TREO's annual lunch Thursday

Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities holds its annual luncheon this Thursday, Oct. 29.

The event opens with registration at 11 a.m. at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, 7000 N. Resort Road. The luncheon is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This year's featured speaker is Alan Webber, a recognized author and founder of Fast Company magazine. He "understands the important characteristics of a "fast company," the "ongoing competition for the best people, for great ideas, and for the right way to think about leadership."
