Staples celebrated the opening of its first store in Marana last week, hosting a ribbon-shredding ceremony that included a $1,500 donation to Make Way for Books.

Staples general manager Joe Fernandez joined by Marana Mayor Ed Honea, representatives from Make Way for Books and the Marana Chamber of Commerce at the new store, located at 3840 W. River Road.

The donation from the Staples Foundation will support Make Way for Books’ early literacy initiatives dedicated to providing young children from birth to age five in limited resource areas of Tucson with the necessary reading skills to be successful prior to entering kindergarten.
