Thunder Canyon Brewery
Randy Metcalf/The Explorer

The following email was released by Thunder Canyon Brewery owner Steve Tracy Thursday, Sept. 21:

Sadly, after 20 years, we are closing our Foothills Mall location. The mall is going through a much needed renovation and, while we had planned to be a part of the new mall, weathering the storm over the past year was too difficult and the future too uncertain.

It’s been a great run and I’ve had the pleasure of working with many fine people over the years. I would like to thank our wonderful staff and the many regulars who made Thunder Canyon Brewery the success that it is. I wish all of our staff members the very best luck and great success in the future.

We’re leaving the northwest side, but we’re not leaving Tucson. You can always visit us at our downtown Tucson location at 220 E. Broadway Blvd. And for all of our Mug Club members, we can’t store your mugs downtown, but bring them in and we’ll fill them up.

Our last day at the Foothills Mall will be Saturday, Sept. 30, so stop in, have a beer and let’s reminisce about 20 great years.

Thanks,

Steve Tracy, Owner

Perhaps the shooting incident at this pub a few months ago discouraged people from going.
