Trek Bicycles opens a shop at Crossings
Trek Bicycles of Tucson has opened its second location at 7645 N. Oracle Road, in the Oracle Crossings shopping center in Oro Valley.
Owner Dave Smessaert is “excited to open the largest bike store in Oro Valley,” a release said.
He brings years of cycling sales and experienced, and a team to assist in bike repair for all makes and models. The store has a wide selection of new bikes and accessories, the release said.
The business, family owned and operated, is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

Oro Valley Eyecare opens in shop center
Oro Valley Eyecare has opened its new office at 10515 N. Oracle Road, Suite 145, in Oro Valley’s Rooney Ranch development.
Optometrist Dr. Robert Mitchell is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Arizona Optometric Association, and is a four-year Oro Valley resident. He received his degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry, with training at Bridge Builders Eye Clinic in Dallas, and the Veterans Administration Clinic in Tulsa, Okla.
Dr. Mitchell has “exceptional experience seeing a variety of eye health conditions,” a release said. He operates a small office that allows “better one-on-one attention for all patient needs.”

Skrambles now open in Oro Valley
A new breakfast and lunch spot has opened in Oro Valley.
Skrambles Café, The Eggsperts, is serving both meals in the Rancho Vistoso Center, on the northwest corner of Oracle and Rancho Vistoso in Oro Valley.
Proprietor Alex Izzard opened the doors on Sunday. It’ll be open Monday through Saturday, 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
“This is going to be a true breakfast and lunch delight for foodies in Oro Valley and beyond,” Izzard said. Items include original recipe egg “scrambles,” home fries with bell peppers, paninis, salads and more.
The business also offers seven flavors of deviled eggs for party tray orders.

NW plumber renews offer of work for those in need
A Northwest plumbing contractor is renewing its offer of help to people who’ve lost jobs, who have threatening plumbing problems and who can’t afford a plumber.
Rogers Plumbing asks those people to send a short note describing their situation.
“We will select the most serious problems and resolve those plumbing issues free of charge,” the company said in a release.
“People with a severe plumbing problem and out of a job should be made aware there is help available if their situation qualifies,” said Roger Borduin of Rogers Plumbing. “If they cannot afford a plumber, we ask that they send a brief note describing the problem so we can evaluate and prioritize each request fairly.”
