Airline to fly Twin Cities
A Minneapolis-based airline is resuming seasonal, non-stop service two times per week between Tucson and the Twin Cities.
Sun Country Airlines plans to operate flights on Mondays and Fridays beginning Dec. 21, and continuing through April 5, according to a Tucson Airport Authority release. Flights would leave Tucson at 4:10 p.m. those days, arriving in Minneapolis at 9:20 p.m. Return flights leave Minneapolis at 2 p.m., and arrive in Tucson at 3:20.
Sun Country's return will bring TIA to nine airlines offering daily non-stop service to 15 cities. Other airlines providing service are Alaska, Frontier and U.S. Airways.
Pima sheriff now 'tweeting'
The Pima County Sheriff's Department is now Twittering.
The online site is being used to generate brief postings to alert the public to items of interest, according to a sheriff's office release.
"Tweets" may direct followers to the department's website or other online resources for additional information. Items of interest would include road closures, areas to avoid, information on missing persons and information about programs of interest throughout the department.
New GM at OV Country Club
Mark Oswald is the new general manager at the Oro Valley Country Club.
Oswald has been general manager at the El Conquistador Golf and Country Club, The Golf Club at Vistoso and at the Prescott Country Club, a release said.
Oswald has been a Class A member of the PGA of America since 1987. He has been active in several community organizations.
