Two fall workshops are being presented by the Northern Pima County Chamber of Commerce.

"How to Use Social Media to Build Your Brand and Business" is set for Wednesday, Sept. 16, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Ventana Medical Systems on Innovation Park Drive in Oro Valley.

"I Hate Cold Calling!" is planned from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Northwest Medical Center, 6200 N. La Cholla Blvd.

At the first event, Linda Cohen and Sam Brace of the Caliber Group are telling participants what social media are, and how to use them in business. It's intended for business people who want to use social media such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and other media to grow their businesses.

"Real life case studies will be discussed," with "lots of time for questions and answers," a release said.

"I Hate Cold Calling!" is meant for "anyone involved in sales that is tired or afraid of cold calling and wants to learn how to make referrals their primary source of new business," the release said.

"Never make another cold call again," a release said. "Learn how to build your revenues through referrals" and other approaches.

Presenter Sam Williams, owner of New View Group, LLC, is the publisher of the Monday Morning Sales Coach, and is a columnist for Inside Tucson Business. He has managed national and regional sales teams for three publicly traded companies, and is an experienced "road warrior" himself, according to the release.

Each workshop costs $10 for members and each accompanied guest before Sept. 12, and $15 for those who sign up after Sept. 12. It's $20 for members at the door. Non-members pay $15, $20 and $25, respectively.
