Maracay Homes, an Arizona-based builder of more than 7,000 homes in the state during the past 20 years, has received the prestigious Builder of the Year Award from the Southern Arizona Home Builders Association (SAHBA) at the annual awards banquet on Jan. 13.
“SAHBA is pleased to recognize Maracay Homes as Builder of the Year for 2011,” said SAHBA President David Godlewski. “Maracay’s commitment to quality, community, customer and SAHBA earned them this prestigious award given annually to the most deserving entrant.”
The Tucson community Sunrise Ridge at Tangerine Crossing, which opened in December 2010, was evaluated by SAHBA judges and earned Maracay Homes the recognition.
Significant features that contributed to SAHBA’s acknowledgement include Maracay Homes’ renowned Flex Design program, which provides homebuyers with choices for the way they want to live.
To qualify for a SAHBA Builder of the Year Award, the homebuilders go through a nomination process. The nominees are then inspected by a committee of judges that evaluate each homebuilder’s product. The judges represent a diverse cross-section of industry professionals and community leaders who score each nominee on an extensive list of criteria, including but not limited to SAHBA involvement, home quality, homebuilder education and community service.
Maracay Homes has five communities in the Greater-Tucson area, and seven in the Greater-Phoenix area, including the newest Tucson community in Marana, Dove Mountain Preserve.
