Adult, internal medicine M.D. joins Northwest
Eun Joo "Cindi" Oh, M.D., a specialist in adult medicine who is board-certified in internal medicine, has joined the Rancho Vistoso office of Northwest Allied Physicians.
After earning her medical degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine, Dr. Oh completed her internal medicine residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital & Health Network in Allentown, Pa. She then completed her fellowship in geriatric medicine at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Oh practiced medicine for a few years in West Chester, Pa., before relocating to Oro Valley.
Dr. Oh is a member of the medical staff at Oro Valley Hospital. She is also a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American College of Physicians.
Her medical practice is located at 13101 N. Oracle Rd., Suite 169, in the Rancho Vistoso Urgent Care building within the Rancho Vistoso neighborhood of Oro Valley. The office can be reached at 520-825-0300.
Same-day or next-day appointments are available for established patients. New patient appointments may be available within the week. Beginning in September, evening hours will be available. Dr. Oh accepts most insurance plans.
Northwest Allied Physicians is a medical group that consists of physicians specializing in family medicine, geriatric medicine, gynecology, gynecologic surgery, infectious disease, internal medicine and neurology. Northwest Allied Physicians also offers a travelers' health program for immunizations and vaccinations needed for international travel. The physicians of Northwest Allied Physicians accept most major insurance plans and are accepting new patients.
Nova manager named to board of SAMLA
Kym Adair, corporate marketing manager for Nova Home Loans, has joined the board of directors of the Southern Arizona Mortgage Lenders Association.
She'll lead SAMLA's public relations committee, a release said.

"Kym shares our commitment to uphold the integrity and credibility of mortgage professionals in our region and is a welcome addition to our team. The Southern Arizona Mortgage Lenders Association was formed to serve its members by providing educational opportunities, promoting legislation favorable to the industry and to homeownership, and maintaining high ethical standards, the release said. SAMLA is also committed to expanding homeownership opportunities for the underserved residents of Arizona. It provides scholarships to students at the University of Arizona and Pima Community College, and puts on first-time homebuyer seminars and other educational programs.

Carondelet's president in field of nominees for most powerful in U.S. healthcare
Ruth W. Brinkley, Carondelet Health Network president and chief executive officer, has been nominated for Modern Healthcare's Top 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare Award.
Each year, Modern Healthcare publishes its choices for the Top 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare from among the nation's "most influential business, political, economic and healthcare leaders," a release said.
Brinkley is one of 300 nominees submitted by readers for the eighth annual award.
Brinkley joined Carondelet Health Network as president and CEO in December 2007. She is also the West Ministry Market Leader for Ascension Health, Carondelet's parent ministry.
During her 30-year career in healthcare, Brinkley also served as president and CEO of Memorial Health Care System in Chattanooga, Tenn., as a vice president for DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton, Mo., and was chief nursing officer and associate dean at the University of Alabama School of Nursing.
Brinkley holds a nursing degree from the Michael Reese Hospital School of Nursing and a master's degree in nursing from DePaul University of Chicago.
In March of this year, Brinkley was honored by Inside Tucson Business as one of Tucson's top 10 "Women of Influence."

Marana chamber needs sponsors for golf tourney
Entries and sponsors are needed now for the Marana Chamber of Commerce's eighth annual golf tournament.
The event is set for The Pines Golf Course, 8480 N. Continental Links Drive, on Friday, Aug. 14.
Range and registration open at 6 a.m. A shotgun start is at 7:30 a.m.
Registration for a single player is $95, or $350 per foursome. The fee includes driving range with unlimited balls, cart, green fee, prize and lunch.
A portion of the proceeds is being donated to the Marana Community Food Bank to help feed families. Currently, the food bank is experiencing a 27 percent increase in demand for its services, according to a release.
Businesses that support the tournament with a sponsorship are paying less this year "to give businesses advertising opportunities at affordable prices," the release continued.
Sponsorships range from $1,000 Eagle contributors to $300 Par sponsor, and to donations for raffle items. To be included on screened advertisement items, the deadline is Tuesday, July 21.
This year's title sponsor is D.L. Withers. Eagle sponsors include Comcast, Coca-Cola and The Explorer.
