Waste Management, Inc., is opening its Ina Road transfer facility for public use, the company announced Monday.

It also made the Rincon Transfer Station facility a public station on Monday.

The decision is made in part “due to the imminent closing of the Tangerine Landfill” by Pima County, a release said.

“Waste Management recognized a public need for alternate dumping locations for Pima County residents,” it said.

“We now have two convenient satellite locations at I-10 and Ina, and I-10 and Kolb Road that will be accepting unsorted recyclables and waste for a small fee,” said Waste Management Tucson District Manager Aubrey Waingrow.

The sites are located at 5200 W. Ina Road and 5890 S. Mann Avenue. Costs per load vary based upon weight and type of materials being accepted for recycling or disposal. Residents can call (800) 672-0129 for more information.

Both facilities will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday. Waste Management of Tucson provides collection, transfer and disposal services to residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal customers.
