MHC Healthcare will commemorate the completion of the new Marana Health Center Main Clinic with a grand opening party and concert on May 21. All elements of the “Lasso the Moon” celebration will take place at the new health center campus located at 13395 N. Marana Main St., in downtown Marana.

The celebration will unveil the 74,656-square-foot, tri-level, state-of- the-art, primary care health facility. The historic grand opening event has been named “Lasso the Moon” to illustrate the accomplishment of opening the LEED-certified, silver-rated facility. The country-western theme reflects the rich and diverse culture of Marana and its surrounding communities, which boasts many families who have operated cotton farms for generations, a rich Hispanic community, several local rodeo champions and rising country star Troy Olsen.

The magnitude of the event dictates that the celebration is delivered on a grand scale.  Providing a memorable experience where the importance of community health centers and the contribution to the economy and community is the goal, according to a press release.

Tours of the new facility begin at 3 p.m. Saturday. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and cocktail hour will follow starting at 5 p.m.

A private dinner and concert for people who purchased tickets and event sponsors will begin at 6 p.m. It will include a private acoustic performance by Olsen starting at 6:45. Marana Mayor Ed Honea and MHC Healthcare Chief Executive Officer Clarence Vatne are scheduled to speak that evening.

Tickets for the Troy Olsen concert are on sale at all Tucson Boot Barn locations as well as at R&R Pizza, online at, and at the door the night of the event. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. The concert begins at 8:30 p.m. and is expected to last about two hours.
