Holiday book drive for kids in hospital

Barnes & Noble at Foothills Mall has launched its annual holiday book drive, providing books to children hospitalized in the Diamond Children's Medical Center at University Medical Center.

Customers who donate books through Jan. 1 receive a discount voucher from Tucson Originals restaurants. The 31 participating restaurants have partnered with the UMC's Diamond Medical Center for this event.

"It's a great opportunity for our store and customers to come together to donate new books for children in our community who really need them," said Mary Gilka, assistant store manager. "On a national level, Barnes & Noble will be making donations to charities across the country."
