A local author plans to donate 10 percent of the profit from his new book to help people suffering from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity.

Oro Valley resident Matt Marine was diagnosed with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity in 2010. MCS is a limbic system disorder, resulting in severe reactions to chemicals and everyday household products like perfumes, fabric softeners, carpeting and paint.

Marine found an article published in the New York Times about The Dynamic Neutral Retraining System, new treatment for people suffering from MCS.

Marine attended a DNRS workshop in November 2011 and is now 50 percent recovered with a goal of complete recovery this year.

Marine will donate 10 percent of the profit from his soon-to-be released mystery novel, “Devil’s Moon.” Funds will directly help people suffering form MCS who cannot afford treatment.

The public is invited to a pre-release book signing party May 17 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites on Oracle Rd. in Oro Valley.
