Pima Animal Care Center’s cat room is getting crowded and county residents wanting to add a cat or kitten to their families can get their adoption fees waived by donating badly needed cat food and supplies.
There are nearly 100 adoptable kittens in the center’s care, which is an all-time high, and there are another 200 cats so to help relieve the overcrowding the center is hosting a Kitten Shower special in June.
Qualified adopters who bring kittens a gift from the center’s Wish List valued at $10 or more will be eligible for a waived adoption fee (normally $30). While there are many items on the Wish List, the center’s greatest needs are for kittens, including:
- Pâté-style canned kitten food
- Powdered or liquid kitten milk replacer
- Pet baby bottles
- Kitten kibble
Pets adopted from Pima Animal Care are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and get a free vet visit.
Be a lucky dog on Friday the 13th
The center also is reducing its dog adoption fees on Friday, June 13th. The center is holding a Change Your Luck special for all dogs. After families have found the dog they want to adopt, they can pick a bingo ball in the center’s lobby and receive a special discount.
ASPCA $100K Challenge
The $100K Challenge is a contest in which 50 shelters across the country compete to break their own records saving the lives of animals. Throughout the months of June, July and August, each competing shelter must save more dogs, cats, puppies and kittens than they did during the same three months in 2013. PACC’s goal is 5,000 animals. To see how the center is doing in the challenge, go to the Challenge website.
