Pima Animal Care - dog

With Labor Day a County holiday, volunteers are needed to help the pets at the Pima Animal Care Center get a little exercise and attention on Monday, Sept. 2.

The dog walk and cat cuddling event begins at 8 a.m. at 4000 N. Silverbell Road. Our adoption center has been very full all summer long, so there are many, many pets needing that daily break and a chance to revel in human companionship.

With scenic Silverbell Lake directly behind the adoption center, it’s also a nice way to spend the morning with friends- including the furry sort.

If you want to learn more about volunteering more regularly, we’ll host an open house at 10 a.m. Even better: Shelter staff members have agreed to open for adoptions from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. for the whole community.

We’ll also be open during that time for owners looking for their lost dogs.

Please bring a picture I.D. to walk the pups and please RSVP by Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at jacneu@yahoo.com Pet food and used blankets or towels are always appreciated.
