Pet News - Happy Holly got a second chance

Holly was the victim of unimaginable cruelty.  At 3 months old, when she should have been settling in to a loving home, this kitten was thrown from a car and run over. Holly wouldn’t have made it, had it not been for a kind animal lover who witnessed the horrible scene unfold and jumped into action.

With two mangled legs, Holly was rushed to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona for help. Thanks to your generous donations, she received around-the-clock veterinary care. Holly endured bandage changes, wound cleanings and physical therapy with courage and calm. Despite everyone’s best efforts, Holly had too much nerve damage in one front leg and it couldn’t be saved.

Thanks to support from people like you, Holly was quickly back on her three paws – strong, effervescent and unfazed by the horrors she overcame.

This trusting kitten knew little joy and no kindness, but that changed the day Holly met a local veterinarian looking to adopt a pet. It was love at first sight! Now, Holly enjoys world-class care, kitty condos, square meals and a lifetime of hugs from her proud mom.

While Holly’s story is a tale of triumph, our work is far from done. This is just one example of the daily struggle you help us fight to end pet abandonment and abuse in southern Arizona.
