Twenty men, ten fights, twenty pairs gloves - and one cage.

For the 27th time, the World Fighting Federation is showcasing some of the most impressive up-and-coming talent in the competitive world of mixed martial arts. Amateur and professional, fighters from across Arizona, Texas and Mexico have come to Tucson to square off against one another at the AVA Amphitheater at Casino Del Sol Resort.

Among the fighters, nearly ten come from or train in the greater Tucson area – though all are excited to showcase their skills in front of hundreds of excited fans. While watching mixed martial arts on the television set is fun, little compares to the cage side excitement of live MMA.

WFF founder and matchmaker Thom Ortiz said he was extremely excited for WFF 27 and that the competitors could each have a potential future in larger promotions, something he hopes to one day see.

“They’ve done everything professional,” he said. “They’ve got their medicals in on time, and everyone’s ready to go. Every fight is going to be a great fight…These guys are warriors, and it’s an honor to have them step in to the cage for us”

Tickets range from $20 for lawn seats to $100 for VIP, and alcohol will be available for purchase. For tickets, visit www.buyfighttickets.com. The fights begin at 7:30 p.m. today, April 16. If you are unable to make it to the fight, World Fighting Federation offers a purchasable streaming service of the fights for $9.99, found at www.wffmma.com
