My fitness progress has been slowed recently due to illness. But now, I am on the road to recovery. This week, I have once again been running with my nephew 5K distances, averaging a faster pace of about 9 minutes per mile -- an improvement from over 10 minutes per mile. Running has proven to be one of the most effective ways for me to keep in shape. The other is eating healthy.
Admittedly, my diet has suffered a bit, since I am taking care of my mother and visiting family here in Tallahassee Florida. It is harder to maintain a proper diet as a visiting guest, at the dining mercy of family members and their eating habits. A combination of proper exercise and proper eating is the key. I am looking forward to my return to Tucson in April, when I will be in full control of both my diet and my exercise routine!
Awareness is one of the most beneficial aspects of my fitness program. I know what I need to do now, and will be able to make greater progress in the near future.
