Well, my 40th birthday came and went. I am very excited to be in the category of "fit at forty". It feels so good to be strong and healthy. I discovered something on my birthday. I have liked cake with sweet butter cream frosting my whole life. (The more frosting the better!) Zach gave me permission to have sweets for my birthday so off I went and ordered a cake. I ate a cheat meal and then a piece of cake. (remember, I have not had sugar for 8 months!) It did not taste good at all, and I felt like I wanted to throw up! If I never ate a piece of cake again in my life I would be okay with that! You could have never convinced me a year ago that I would no longer like cake! I am also no longer counting calories. As long as I eat healthy foods, I get to eat when I am hungry and stop when I am full. Zach says it is more realistic as we wind this challenge down. I will most likely not count calories the rest of my life. Beside, after 9 months, I pretty much know how much I can eat and still lose weight.

My two sisters surprised me and flew in from Montana for my birthday. It was fun to spend time with them and have some workout buddies. All three of us are eating healthy and exercising, so it is fun to share that. Every where I go people are asking me about my weight loss and telling me how great I look. It is fun to be able to tell them about this challenge and to be a good example for them, and motivate them. Onwards I march!
