Richard (Dick) Bryant Johnson, August 18, 1941 - November 19, 2013.

Former Santa Barbara, CA resident Richard B. Johnson unexpectedly passed away November 19th at his home in Oro Valley, AZ at the age of 72.

Mr. Johnson was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Harold and Bernice Johnson. He graduated from Santa Barbara High School in 1960.

He served in the United States Air Force and completed two tours overseas during the Vietnam War. He was decorated with honors. Using his Air Force training, he joined Teledyne-Ryan, Raytheon, Moseley Associates and Avista Incorporated where his position provided him the opportunity to travel the world.

Dick was involved in several organizations. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in CA, WI and AZ as well as the Darts League. Some of his happiest times were taking motorcycle rides as a member of the Harley Davidson Hogs.

He shared his many talents of music, dance and card playing with friends and family during his many trips reuniting with extended family all across the United States.

He is survived by a sister, Carol Johnson of Santa Barbara, his five daughters, Tracy Johnson, Tanya Johnson Allen, D’Arcy Johnson, Devon Johnson and Noelle White. He was also privileged to have six granddaughters with whom he enjoyed spending time and sharing the love of family.
