Virginia Welborn (Jane) Jenkins Volz, 87, died peacefully at Mountain View Care Center on July 16, 2013.

Jane was born the daughter of Wiley and Helen Welborn in Kansas City, Missouri where she graduated from Northeast High School and completed secretarial training at the Brightwell School.  In 1944 Jane enlisted in the Women’s Army Air Corp and served in Bermuda where she met James C. Jenkins. She married Jim and raised five children, James B Jenkins, George R Jenkins (Linda), Robert G Jenkins, Elizabeth Frye and Sue Ann Frey. She was a loving and caring grandmother to nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She is best described as a loyal wife and loving mother who would do anything for children & grandchildren. The Jenkins’ raised their family in Kansas City and Oklahoma City where Jane drove a school bus for over 25 years. Jane was involved with many civic activities throughout the years. In 1995 she and Jim moved to Oracle Junction, Arizona. She was preceded in death by Jim in 1997.

In 2003 Jane married Christian J. Volz and enjoyed a happy retired life.

In October of 2011 Jane suffered a stroke which she was unable to fully recover. Jane requested that her ashes be scattered in the desert that she loved and her friends remember her in their own way.
